This is absolutely the best place in Richmond to still have handmade, quality sushi, compared to the all you can eat kind. Its affordable and offers a lunch combo for $9.99. For this price, you can pick 3 items on a page of selected items. You can even order 3 of the same thing if you wanted! The service isn't bad and the staff waiting tables each have a specific role (taking orders, cleaning dishes etc.), so be patient if you need something.
Ahi (Tuna) Tataki Salad An excellent entree to start off lunch. It's simple, light on the palate, and each ingredient is allowed to stand out. The tuna and the acidity of the dressing carries the salad. This dish consists of 4 slices of seared tuna tataki on a bed of mixed salad greens, accented with shredded carrots and radish. The dressing is balsamic vinegar and ranchy mayonnaise.
Chikuwa Cheese
This dish is to die for if you're a savoury type of foodie. Deep fried Chikuwa Fish Cake with a melted mozzarella stick in the middle. The dish is topped off with Japanese mayonnaise, light teriyaki sauce and dried green onion.
Chicken Teriyaki Roll The final piece to the lunch combo is the sushi roll. I guess you could call it a makizushi, if you want a technical term. It's pretty basic and is made of tempura battered chicken, cucumber and nori seaweed. The sushi roll is drizzled in teriyaki sauce and sesame seeds.
