On a past Saturday, I had the pleasure of finally trying out the new bubble waffle place in Richmond, aptly named "The BBT Shop". Once you've seen pictures of it on Instagram or other social media forms, you can't help but try it at least once. They have bubble tea, coffee, smoothies, standard egg waffles, deluxe egg waffles and premium egg waffles! It's awesome how all these options fit everyone's budget, and whether they have an "on the go lifestyle" or a "sit down to eat" type. When you eat in, the staff bring your order to your table on a bamboo panel. I ordered the Premium Egg Waffle called Cookies and Cream - $6.95; a bit much, but for the first time I guess it was alright. (I got scolded back home lmao, worth it :P) From the time that I went @ 2:30 pm in the afternoon, it was about a 15 to 20 minute wait. This dessert consists of a chocolate egg waffle, whipped cream, oreo sprinkles, chocolate syrup and a side scoop of their cream cheese frosting. The dusting of icing sugar is just for visual and isn't really prominent in the snack, but the whipped frosting really gave it flavour when combined with the waffle. I found the flavour a little lacking, but the overall appearance was mind-blowing! Its probably because the staff really need to really rush to keep up with the demand.
The second one featured here is the Smores Premium Egg Waffle - $6.95.
This egg waffle artfully combines graham crackers and chocolate chips crumbled over top of whipped cream, chocolate sauce and lightly torched bruleed marshmallows. I actually liked marshmallows for once since torching them gives them a softer, saltier taste. I would highly recommend this one instead of the Cookies and Cream one, and it's great to share with a friend!
