Open Daily: 11am to 10pm

This week, my friends and I finally got the opportunity to go check out Gami Sushi after finishing our Provincials. Gami Sushi is a relatively new restaurant, and it's popular with people from the surrounding schools in the area. It's an especially great place to go to if you have a spare block and you want something affordable, yet awesome to eat.

From my experience, I thought that the service here was decent. Two of my friends went ahead to grab tables for us, so we got to sit down as soon as we walked in. After us however, more groups started to come in and they had to wait for quite some time for a table. The restaurant is a small area, with spots for up to groups of 6 and tables of 2, so it fills up fast. Surrounding the tables, the masonry for the interior of the restaurant adds in an artistic flair. The staff set down dishes quite fast, so be ready to quite literally catch it before it slides off the table and they run off. There is an effort for fancy plating and it makes it appealing to the eye, but its not the most unique thing you'd ever see compared to other restaurants.

Black Dragon Roll (10 pcs) $9.95 (After Tax = $10.45)

Reading just the menu alone, I was expecting more than just toppings on top of a california roll. However, I loved the combination that the chef put together. Just the right amount of Chipotle Mayo and Okonomiyaki Sauce, paired with Unagi (eel) and Avocado is just the perfect thing to fill an empty stomach. You basically don't even need soya sauce anymore! I didn't mind paying $9.95 for 10 pieces and I would come back to have this again.

Crispy Holic Roll (10 pcs) $8.95

On first glance, you might be wondering what the difference is between this and the roll above. Well, it's really quite similar besides the fact that it spotlights baked salmon, crispy yams and bonito flakes as the main elements. I really liked the smoky taste that it had and the bonito flakes maintained the flavor when eaten.

Seafood Udon

$10.95

There's quite the amount of seafood has been put into this bowl of udon! Squid, shrimp and spongy bean curd all come together and make this like a typical bowl of homecooked udon. The price seems a bit high for a bowl of udon, but it's a large portion size.
